Group Functions

Want to create a nominal roll of the men from your favourite battalion? Or wish to have a list of all the men who died on a certain day? Well making use of the Group Functions feature will solve your problem.

It's a simple feature to use. All you have to do is go to the bottom of the soldier details section, and select "Add soldier to the group". Then enter a name into the "Create a new group" box, one which is descriptive of the group you wish to create (ie. "Men from the Eastern Townships" or "Soldier killed at Regina Trench"). Once that is done, simply select "Add to group".

There are no limits to the number of groups you can create.

When you wish to review the list, merely go to the "Group Functions" section, then select "Group report", choose the group you wish to look at, then choose the order the names will be listed in.

You can 'publish' the group by copying the URL fo rthe report and eMailing it to others. If you find it useful to publish groups, then send an eMail to marc and let him know. He has said that if enoough people ask for it, he will develop it. (Note: It's done. Now you can publish a group to allow anyone to see it)

If you think of other tips that would be good to add, please send marc an eMail and let him know.
