Personalized Preferences

Registered users to the site can change some basic parameters that can make the site feel a bit easier to use. For registered users, the parameter page is accessible under the "Utilities" link on the left hand menu navigation

The parameter that everyone can use is the default number of records that are displayed when a search is done. The standard default is 10 records, but many people would like to see more, and this can be set on the preferences page.

Another option is the ability to be informed when new transcripts, either Letters from the Front or Newspaper Transcripts are entered.

Also, there are some options that facilitate the entry of new soldier information for those involved with adding new soldier records, or updating the ones that are in place. These range from being able to automatically jump from field to field as dates are filled in to having the name of the Battalion prefill when inserting new soldiers.
