The afternoon was devoted to sports.

Great excitement prevailed among the Civilian and Military population of SOMAIN and its vicinity, when the news was announced that the Armistice was signed. At night a large bonfire was lighted in the field between the villages of Fenian and Somain, and crowds of both Soldiers and civilians went out and celebrated.

The pipe band of the 15th Canadian. Infantry battalion was in attendance and a very enjoyable time was spent in spite of the rain.
