Robert died while swimming at Mussleman's Lake , he drowned due to some complications assumed from the war. He was only in six feet of water and gave no sign of difficulties. Rescued by friends but to no avail.
Buried in Hartman Cemetery, Hartman, Ontario (a small Hamlet in Whitchurch - Stouffville)
Headstone moved to Mount Albert Cemetery in Family plot
