Description: From the Regimental Diaries:
During the period 15/8/17 to 18/8/17 this soldier while doing duty as a Battalion lineman, made many trips over the lines after same had been cut by shell fire and when the Battalion made the second attack on 16/8/17 he made several extra tours and displayed the greatest courage and determination in helping to keep the lines in working order. During this period it became necessary to lay three new lines.
