Distinguished Conduct Medal (Villers Brettoneux to Meharicourt)
Description: For exceptional leadership and good workduring the attack from Villers Brettoneux to Meharicourt on 8/9th August 1918. When acting as C.S.M. he showed great Initiative in attacking a strong point which was holding up the advance. At the time he gave very great assistance to the company comander and showed great coolness under heavy machine gun fire, setting a splendid example to his men.

Joined 25th battalion as a private he was given the following promotions. Acting Corporal 28 June 1916, Corporal 21 June 1916, Lance Sergeant 24 April 1917, Sergeant 05 Oct. 1917. He was wounded on the following dates. 14 July 1916 gunshot wound right hand rejioning the 25th on 26th April 1917, 09 Aug. 1918 gunshot wound left arm after wound was treated he was sent back to Nova Scotia and discharged demob. on 01 May 1919.

Listed on the Nominal Roll of the 25th Battalion.
