Sir John Hendrie Presents Decoration to Gallant Soldier at Davisville Hospital.

At Davisville Convalescent Hospital1 at 3 o'clock this afternoon the Distinguished Conduct Medal was presented by Lieut.-Gov. Sir John Hendrie to Pte. Allan Bruce Davies, of the 31st Overseas Battalion, C.E.F., "for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty."

Pte. Davies is at present an in-patient at the Davisville Hospital. He won the coveted decoration for having rescued several wounded men while himself under the enemy's fire. His fine personal example and utter disregard of danger had a most inspiring effect upon all ranks with whom he came in contact, his officers testified in recommending the high distinction.
