RESEARCH INFORMATION

Uploader's Notes:

The text transcribed below appeared in the War Memorial of Huron County's Heroes and Heroines, published by The Wingham Advance, Wingham, Ont. Her photo appeared with this brief bio (see attached image). From page nine:

NURSING SISTER MISS JESSIE WILSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garvin Wilson, of Lower Wingham, sailed for England in May, 1916, and was attached to The Queen's Canadian Military Hospital at Beachborough Park, Shorncliffe, where she remained two years and ten months.

In her experience as nurse she had many important cases under her care and her experiences will be long remembered by her. She arrived home on March 4th and was given a hearty welcome.

______________

Attestation scans for two Nursing Sisters with the name Jessie Wilson are available at the online archives "Soldiers of the CEF". It appears that this is a third Jessie Wilson as the others give a different NOK address and are from other locations. Further research is required.

From the dates of this pamphlet, it seems that she arrived home in 1919.
