Uploader's Research notes: [Trooper Army Canadian Infantry 9th Regiment Canadian Mounted Rifles Trained with the 9th CMR at Sewell Camp during the summer of 1915. Was hospitalized for unstated reasons from July 27-August 14. Sailed with the 9th CMR aboard the SS California from St John, New Brunswick to Liverpool between November 23 to December 03, 1915. The unit was posted to Bramshott on arrival in England. Private Army Canadian Infantry 1st Regiment Canadian Mounted Rifles Reported as part of a draft of 105 Other Ranks to the 1st CMR in Divisional Rest Billets at Red Farm, near Ypres, Belgium on February 08, 1916. At 0830 on June 02, the enemy launched a massive artillery attack on the 1st CMR positions on Mount Sorrel, Belgium. The War Diary recorded that of the men who garrisoned the front line trenches that morning, only 1 officer and 5 other ranks could be accounted for. On June 21, 1916 he was reported as wounded and missing on or after June 05. He was reported Missing, Presumed Killed on March 26, 1917. According to a Burial Report dated August 11, 1921, his remains were found, and he was confirmed as Killed in Action on June 05, 1916. ]
