Notes

Son of Charles Wilcox and Nellie Wilcox (nee Lotten); husband of Annie Wilcox (nee Aitkens) married October 2, 1919

Deserted January 8, 1917 from the 204th Battalion. Resurfaced with the 176th Battalion April 12, 1917. Convicted several times by Field General Court Martial of various offences from June 1917 through to July 1919, most of which were related to violence against a person or property and breaking from custody

Some documents in the digitized service file and the 1900 U.S. Census records suggest that this soldier was actually born in Buffalo, New York, U.S.A., but no birth record was found to confirm his Place of Birth. Some documents also suggest that he was a widower at the time he attested, but no record of a previous marriage was found to corroborate this
