Military Districts
In 1914, Sir Sam Hughes reorganized the Militia from 12 Military Districts to 6 divisions (1-6) and 3 districts (10,11, 13). On 1 April, 1916 the six Divisions were renamed Districts to avoid confusion with combat formations named Divisions..
